Riotous Music

Riotous Assembly is the collective name for this group of musicians who came together in the spring of 2009 via such routes as folk music, the popular music culture of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries, Halstead’s Historical Society, Essex Libraries as well as the Inns of East Anglia.

“An English Revolution” was Riotous Assembly’s first historical adventure in song and narration, and was an exploration of the Halstead Riots that took place in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

Riotous Assembly are, in alphabetical order:

Bobby, Elinor, Graham, Jane, John and Stuart

Lynne climbed aboard the coach for “The Norwich Times” as operator of the mighty magic lantern – so now they are seven!!

Riotous Assembly like to dress in costume of the period when they perform, to add verisimilitude….. and because they like dressing up!
